Engaging car buyers during a period of potential pandemic



The first of potentially many occurred – Geneva Motor Show was cancelled last Friday after the Swiss government banned events and gatherings of 1,000 people or more due to concerns over the coronavirus. 

With unforeseen circumstances, major automotive brands had to be clever in how they could showcase their vehicles. For example, German brands (Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz) introduced their new vehicles with a live stream through multiple platforms. Other major car brands followed suit with the motor show’s own website by live-streaming 20 new car presentations this week.

We at Productive Formula believe this is the ideal time to test ‘out of the box’ campaigns as an opportunity to see how digital content compares with location unveilings. The results from this crisis  could dramatically impact future world auto show events, and the beginning of a digital transformation in the future of engaging media with car buyers.
